In 2017, after being inspired at a Virginia Library Association Conference, our program coordinator at the time collected seed packets, found display boxes, and introduced our first Seed Saver Library. We toted it back and forth to Farmer’s Markets and it was supported and enhanced by various fellows from Allegheny Mountain Institute. Now, we have on staff an experienced Master Gardener, Pamm McDowell, to oversee and develop the seed library. She’s available to answer gardening questions and help you plan the best way to care for your garden. Besides accepting the seeds which our borrowers have cultivated, the library purchases or solicits the donation of fresh garden seeds every spring.
