The library signed up for a subscription to an Independent Film Series on DVD and started a monthly movie and discussion night. We used a portable projector and pop-up screen. We enjoyed many independent and foreign films and the subsequent lively discussions about them. Eventually, the interest waned. After a break of several years, during which we had upgraded our A/V capabilities, we introduced a monthly Family Movie Night. It was a smashing success. There was one Friday night we squeezed nearly 70 people in the meeting room for a showing of Disney’s “Secretariat.”
