Imagine Your Story logo
Summer Reading Program, June 8 - August 1, 2020

What are we doing?
Your goal is five hours of reading. For every ten minutes you read you will add a sticker to your
reading log. When you finish a book write down the book title. Once you have added thirty stickers, representing 300 minutes (five hours!), you can return your reading log to the library for a prize. There is a limit of one prize per week.

How do I get started?
There are two ways you can register for the summer reading program:
1. Fill out the registration form found on the library’s web page.
2. Call us at 468-2373.
We will collect your information and then prepare a “getting started” bag for each child who registers. The bag will be left on the cart in front of the library with the curbside pick-up bags. Once you pick up the bag it’s time to start reading!

I’ve finished my reading log, now what do I do?
Call us at 468-2373 or fill out this quick form to let us know. We’ll ask you a few questions that will help us choose your preferred prize and we’ll prepare your next reading log and activity bag and put the prize in that. You will find a picture of available prizes to choose from on our Facebook page and on the library’s web page. Make your choice before you contact us. Prizes will be Treasure Chest items and books.

How Do I Win the BIG Prizes?
At the end of the Summer Reading Program we will have a drawing where you could win a Fire HD 8 Tablet, a LEGO Katana 4x4, a LEGO Friends Stephanie’s Horse Jumping, a KEVA Maker Bot Maze set, a Fitbit Ace 2 Activity Tracker for Kids, or a Duplo My First Animal Brick Box set. When you sign up for the reading incentive program you will automatically be entered into whichever drawing you choose. Each time you complete a reading log or participate in a virtual program you will be allowed another entry in the drawing of your choice. The more you participate in the summer reading program the more chances you’ll have to win one of the big prizes.

Who Can Sign Up?
Kids from 1 to 17 years old are eligible. If you can’t read yet, then someone can read to you.

What Do I Read?
Library books, books from home, eBooks from Hoopla, Blue Ridge Download Consortium, and Bookflix, or magazines.
