The announcement went out in the Recorder that the library in the Masonic Building would close on Fri., May 15, 1987, so that they could begin the process of moving the books and equipment over to the new building. They added that $30,000 had been borrowed to complete the new library building and they would be preparing a new mailing asking for contributions to retire that debt. The official dedication for the new library building was set for September 19. The moving process was completed entirely by volunteers, including members of the National Honor Society from Highland High School.
