For many years, various library board members had been advocating for the library to set up a foundation or endowment to help ensure the future sustainability of the library.
This goal was finally accomplished when the library board voted to partner with the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge to set up an Agency Fund. The idea was to build the fund so that future dividends could be used to support the library operations budget. It provides another opportunity for patrons and donors to support the library in a long-term and meaningful way.

For many years, the library, like many other Highland non-profits, has benefited from CFCBR's Community Grants program. Our relationship with CFCBR and its President, Dan Layman, has helped donors in the Shenandoah Valley become aware of the library's work for the community of Highland County. This has resulted in additional financial support for library. We are very thankful for CFCBR's ongoing support.
