How Does the Reading Program Work?
This summer we’ll be counting the number of minutes you read. For every ten minutes that you read you should add a sticker to your reading log. You should also record the titles of the books you are reading. When you have read for a total of five hours (300 minutes) you can return your reading log for a prize. There will be a limit of one prize per participant per week.

When Does the Program Start?
The program begins Monday, June 16, and ends on Saturday, August 9. You must return your reading logs and incentive sheets during that time.

What are the Prizes?
Prizes include items you may choose from our Treasure Chest, including books, stickers, stuffed animals, and lots of toys. There will also be certificates, donated by local merchants, which you may redeem at their locations for balloons, trout, or dollar value items.

How Do I Win the Big Prizes?
At the end of the Summer Reading Program we will have a drawing where you could win a Phillips GoGEAR Vibe 8GB MP3 Player, a LEGO Chima Eagles’ Castle, a LEGO Friends Heartlake High School, a Celestron Firstscope Telescope, a V-Tech Tote & Go Laptop, Brutus the stuffed dog, or Rocket the stuffed dog. When you sign up for the reading incentive program you will automatically be entered into whichever drawing you choose. Each time you complete a reading log/incentive sheet or attend a “Paws to Read” program you will be allowed another entry in the drawing of your choice. The more you participate in the summer reading program the more chances you’ll have to win one of the big prizes.

Who Can Sign Up?
Kids from 1 to 17 years old are eligible. If you can’t read yet, then someone can read to you.

What Do I Read?
Library books, books from home, or magazines.
