Reading Incentive Program

How Does the Reading Program Work?
This summer we’ll be counting the number of minutes you read. Every time you read for ten minutes you should color in a rectangle on your reading log. You should also record the titles of the books you are reading. When you have read for a total of five hours (300 minutes) you can return your reading log for a prize. There will be a limit of one prize per participant per week.

When Does the Program Start?
The program begins Monday, June 11, and ends on Saturday, August 4. You must return your reading logs during that time.

What are the Prizes?
Prizes include items you may choose from our Treasure Chest, including books, stickers, stuffed animals, and lots of toys. There will also be certificates, donated by local merchants, which you may redeem at the business locations for sodas, balloons, or dollar value items.

How Do I Win the Big Prizes?
At the end of the Summer Reading Program we will have a drawing where you could win a Sandisk Sansa Clip Zip 8 GB MP3 Player, a LEGO Ninjago Rattlecopter, a LEGO Friends City Park Cafe, an Ultra Stomp Rocket, or a Leap Frog My Own Leaptop. When you sign up for the reading incentive program you will automatically be entered into whichever drawing you choose. Each time you complete a reading log or attend a “Dream Big…Read!” program you will be allowed another entry in the drawing of your choice. The more you participate in the summer reading program the more chances you’ll have to win one of the big prizes.

Who Can Sign Up?
Kids from 1 to 17 years old are eligible. If you can’t read yet, then someone can read to you.

What Do I Read?
Library books, books from home, or magazines.
