Reading Incentive Program
Mon., June 9 - Sat., August 2, 2008

How Does the Reading Program Work?
This summer we’ll be counting the number of minutes you read. Every time you read for twenty minutes you should make a mark on your reading log. The mark can be a check or “x” or anything you choose. You should also record the titles of the books you’ve read once you finish them. When you have fifteen marks (five hours total of reading) you can return your reading log for a prize. There will be a limit of one prize per participant per week.

When Does the Program Start?
The program begins Monday, June 9, and ends Saturday, August 2. You must return your reading logs during that time.

What are the Prizes?
Prizes include items you may choose from our Treasure Chest, including books, stickers, stuffed animals, temporary tattoos and lots of toys. There will also be certificates, donated by local merchants, which you may redeem at the business locations for sodas, candy bars, video rentals, balloons, or dollar value items.

How Do I Win the Big Prizes?
At the end of the Summer Reading Program we will have a drawing where you could win either an
Air Hogs Havoc Heli (remote controlled helicopter), a Leap Frog Leapster learning game system, or a Philips GoGear 1GB mp3 player. When you sign up for the reading incentive program you will automatically be entered into whichever drawing you choose. Each time you complete a reading log or attend a “Catch the Reading Bug” program you will be allowed another entry in the drawing of your choice. The more you participate in the summer reading program the more chances you’ll have to win one of the big prizes.

Who Can Sign Up?
Kids from 1 to 17 years old are eligible. If you can’t read yet, then someone can read to you.

What Do I Read?
Library books, books from home, or magazines.
